Wegmans

"What is sad about this good store is that they allow dogs in- I don’t mean service dogs, I MEAN PETS. I love animals but a grocery store is not the place for pets. NOTICED I SAID PETS. But if Wegmans cared about animals they too would enforce the law. Don’t you think dogs surrounded by the hustle and bustle really enjoy that atmosphere. AND dogs are zoonotic! I walk here. It’s about a mile and then I uber back. It’s a great store for Manhattan- better prices, good take home dishes. Meat selection is superior to most and so is the seafood. The fruit and vegetables selections and prices are spot on. It’s an outdoor market that is inside. To me the bakery is lacking special goods for a store this size. The bakery is almost an after thought. Even the baking supplies they sell aren’t anything to write home about. Another weak area is the Tea selection. There also is a problem in checkout. I told the cashier that today with good weather I was going to walk home and needed the groceries balanced. She stacked the groceries to the top and I politely asked for another bag so I could redistribute my purchases. Plus when the bags were filled to the top the handles break. I was told they tested the bags for a certain weight. Well, they need to test the handles on stuff ability and I think they would come out with a different results. The store is like a maze but don’t hesitate to ask staff members for help. Many know the layout of the store."

"This is the first time I've noticed that this supermarket has a very large area. The deli section offers a wide selection of premium supermarket items, two levels above Walmart. The layout is upscale. A slightly higher price is to be expected. There's also a wide variety of items and food to choose from. I usually choose supermarket private label brands because they are more cost-effective. I also discovered many interesting brands Hoping to launch more new products I will visit again."

"Very large and grand supermarket. Hot and cold meals, sushi, fresh orange juice, lemonade you name it being served upstairs and a traditional supermarket layout downstairs. Lots of delivery men filling orders around the store. Definitely a place you would want your groceries delivered from. Everything is so fresh and nicely in place."

"Worst supermarket in Manhattan if you want to eat healthy: hundreds of thousands of meters square of vegetables with pesticides and absolutely no organic product section, and very little choice in any type of product. No organic cheese. I only found organic strawberries, and when you ask someone to help you find the very few organic products that they might have here or there, they just send you away to look for yourself and don't want to help. Worst experience ever."
